Most experimenters spend much of their time at the Institute with the design, acquisition and optimisation of their test rigs before the harvest of scientific results can begin. For this reason we believe that the successful commissioning of test rigs deserves dedicated ceremonies. Since the focus of many experiments at the Institute of Thermodynamics is on combustion, all experimenters of the Institute have the honor to introduce their experiments in the framework of a "First-Fire Ceremony” independent of whether they are on combustion or on another topic.
This year the first ceremony of this kind took place on on Thursday July 13th, 2016. Max Baumgärtner, Moritz Bruder and Norbert Heublein presented their laboratories and invited the entire staff of the Institute to long drinks, beers and grilled food.
