Public Transportation
The Garching campus is connected to public transport via the U6 underground line. The easiest way to reach the research centre from the main railway station is via the suburban train (S-Bahn) lines in the direction of Ostbahnhof to Marienplatz, from where the U6 leaves in the direction of Garching-Forschungszentrum (total journey time approx. 30 minutes). Further information, including connection information and prices, is available from the Munich Transport Association (www.mvg.de). Current information and ticket sales can also be accessed via the Munich public transport apps (e.g. München Navigator, MVGo). Depending on the choice of ticket (single ticket, day ticket and group day ticket for up to 5 adults), the costs range from €7.70 to €20.30.
By car
The Garching campus can be reached by car via the A9 Munich-Nuremberg motorway. The research centre is located directly at the Garching-Nord junction. An overview map of the research centre can be found here. You can find more information about travelling by car using online route planners, e.g. maps.
By plane
You can reach the Garching campus from Munich Airport either by taxi, public transport or rental car.
