Alexander Eder joins Prof. Matthew Juniper’s group at the University of Cambridge as visiting researcher

Prof. Matthew Juniper's group at the University of Cambridge is investigating the application of methods from Bayesian statistics to problems in thermoacoustics. The aim is to predict flame dynamics in gas turbine combustors in the near future. Bayesian inference is used to infer the parameters of a low-dimensional model of combustor acoustics from experimental data. The uncertainty in the model parameters is simultaneously quantified. In a second step, this procedure is applied to different low-dimensional models in order to quantitatively rank the models, allowing the researcher to select the best model given the data. Our colleague Alexander Eder is supporting the group in Cambridge during his research stay in September. We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Prof. Matthew Juniper for his hospitality.
