Fundamentals of Simulation in Thermo-Fluid Dynamics
The course provides a hands-on approach to scientific computing using examples from the field of thermo-fluid dynamics. The participants become familiar with the most important numerical algorithms and learn at the same time dealing with MATLAB.

Computational Thermo-Fluid Dynamics
In order to understand the working principles of complex simulation programs from scratch, custom programs are implemented in PYTHON. So you can already solve fairly complex problems as they occur in practice.

Simulation of Thermo-Fluids with Open Source Tools
You learn how to use the open source CFD toolbox OpenFOAM for simulation of a variety of thermo-fluiddynamic phenomena. You exploit the benefits of open source software to build your own solver, or modify existing models. At the end of the term, you work in a small team on an individual project.

Computational Methods for Operator-Based Analysis
You learn advanced methods to solve large linear systems or eigenvalue problems stemming from linear analysis or optimization problems of realistic systems. No longer will LAPACK, PETSc, or SLEPc remain black boxes to you! Once the theoretical knowledge is aqcuired, you learn how to efficiently implent solvers based on these librairies in PYTHON
Projektseminar
Projektseminar Numerische Thermofluiddynamik
The project seminar can be chosen as an alternative to the industrial internship. In this course, neural networks will be used to revise existing models for combustion simulations with hydrogen fuel blends. The work is primarily implemented with MATLAB. In addition, the accompanying program of the ZSK teaches the cooperation in a project group.
